The Qualifi Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation gives learners the knowledge and skills to carry out advanced beauty therapy and aesthetic procedures, and the essential underpinning knowledge to work commercially as a practitioner. It develops the occupational skills and competencies to progress directly into employment or on to further study. To achieve the qualification a learner completes eight units — all five mandatory units and a minimum of three optional units (a minimum of 58 credits). Mandatory units cover health, safety and hygiene for aesthetic procedures, client consultation, the biochemistry and biology of cells, skin morphology and the inflammatory response, and skin disorders and diseases relative to aesthetic practice. Optional units are selected in discussion with staff at interview.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and have achieved a Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy, or equivalent qualifications and/or substantial industry experience. The unit AP301 Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures must be selected. The practitioner must hold a First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent) and be able to carry out basic life support (SFHCHS36).
